Epilepsy: from connectivity to connectome

13th Latin American Summer School on Epilepsy - LASSE XIII

São Paulo - Brazil

LASSE XIII – EPILEPSY AS A NEURAL NETWORK DISEASE

The 13th Latin American Summer School on Epilepsy (Lasse) is an educational activity of the International League against Epilepsy (Ilae) and the Latin American Academy of Epilepsy (Alade) with the support of the Brazilian Epilepsy League (LBE).

Beginning in 2002, the Summer Schools in Epilepsy, organized by Ilae, have become a reference as a didactic experience. As teachers and students remain in close contact for about ten consecutive days, this type of School has facilitated the integration between basic researchers, clinicians, surgeons in the field of epilepsy and students, allowing a better understanding of new discoveries for the benefit of people with epilepsy.

The 13th Latin American Summer School in Epilepsy (Lasse) to be held in Guarulhos, between March 7 and 15, 2019, will address the theme Neural networks in epilepsy _ From connectivity to connectome, a paradigm shift whose approach is necessary to update young Latin American epileptologists.

We would like to thank the teachers and tutors who so generously give up their time and offer their services, and we welcome the students of LASSE XIII, the main reason for our work.
